Welcome to Battleship! Your objective is to sink all of the computer's ships before it sinks yours.
Setup
- Both your ships and the computer's are placed randomly on the grid at the start.
- You can manually place your ships by dragging and dropping them to your desired positions on your board.
- Double-click on any ship to rotate it between horizontal and vertical orientations.
- Alternatively, click the "Randomize" button to automatically place all your ships in random positions.
- Once you're satisfied with your ship placement, click "Start Game" to begin.
Ships
- Carrier (5 spaces)
- Battleship (4 spaces)
- Cruiser (3 spaces)
- Submarine (3 spaces)
- Destroyer (2 spaces)
Game Play
- You and the computer take turns to attack by clicking on a grid coordinate on the opponent's board.
- A hit is marked in red, and a miss is marked with an "X".
- If a ship is hit, the current player continues to attack until the next miss, then turns are switched.
- When a ship is completely sunk, all adjacent cells are marked as verified empty (if the setting is enabled).
- The first player to sink all of the opponent's ships wins!
Settings
- Mark verified empty cells: When enabled, cells adjacent to sunk ships are marked with an "O" to help you identify areas where no ships can be located.
- Sound on: Toggle game sound effects on or off.
Tips
- Use strategy to determine the likely location of the opponent's ships.
- Pay attention to the pattern of hits and misses to adjust your strategy.
- Enable "Mark verified empty cells" to help track areas where ships cannot be located.
- The computer can make 'smart' attacks, so don't underestimate it.
All the best, but may the computer win! 😂😂😂
